“500 Mile” is a term used by street vendors (Chaiwallas) in India; it refers to a rich, spicy and uplifting Chai that can provide the boost necessary to drive another “500 miles.” In our authentic 500 Mile Chai blend, we combine quality black teas from the regions of Darjeeling and Assam with fresh, small farm grown spices.

Wild Black makes an excellent breakfast tea due to its hearty, full bodied flavor. The leaves of are harvested from old growth tea trees and processed at a small tea farmers’ cooperative in Ha Giang, Northern Vietnam. Old growth refers to tea leaves grown on wild growing tea trees rather than more shrub-like tea bushes. Wild Black features long, stylish leaves, well-crafted into a robust black tea.

Fresh Oregon Peppermint is blended with Indian Purple Tulsi, or “Holy Basil” to make a cooling, caffeine free blend. Holy Basil is considered a sacred herb and is frequently used in Ayurvedic medicine.
The green tea used in to make our Jasmine Pearls is handcrafted at a second generation family tea farm in Hunan, China. Newly sprouted tea leaves are plucked, then naturally infused with jasmine fragrance and hand rolled into pearls.

We use Assam tea from Chota Tingrai, an estate in the Tinsukia district known for its environmental and social sustainability practices.
This tea is an exclusive harvest for us from the Heritage Tea Factory, the oldest (est 1888) in Darjeeling, India. Darjeeling Heritage is made during the First Flush (early spring) season with an emphasis on lighter oxidation, which maintains a greener quality in the leaf.
